Gavin James Compton

Gavin was a little yellow, so to make him feel better they gave him some UV treatment. And to make sure he got the most out of it, they put him on his tummy so his back could
"soak up the sun."
Since UV rays aren't good for little eyes, he got some sweet shades to keep the light out.
It looked a little funny when they took the shades off cause he had Velcro circles on his temples to keep the "glasses" on.

Just moments after he was born.

We're home now and boy am I glad. Now I'm going to get some sleep in my bed. Love ya all!

Awake again

So I'm up again...and the whole house is dark. It is raining though so it's kinda relaxing. Boy am I ready to be in the hospital. Mostly cause it means I won't be pregnant anymore. I don't think I even slept for one full hour at a time last night. I did have some pretty hard contractions...but when I got up and walked around they stopped...sad. Who knew I'd be asking for pain.

blah de blah de Blog

So no changes today. I'm sorry the blog has turned into my complaint board. I did go to the hospital last night but mostly cause I had never been to the labor and deliver unit before and we wanted to check it out before I had to be there for a few days. IT"S SO NICE! they have a great big jacuzzi tub in the bathroom that would be SO nice to just sit in. (mike even wanted to hop in it lol!) And the room was almost twice the size of the once at Cox. And one of the chairs turns into a bed so if needed mike could sleep there for a few hours. It made me feel a lot better to see what would be going on.

But for now...I sit. I wait...and I try to sleep as much as I can. woo hoo....not. It has been really nice to have my family up here though. We got my food storage all rearranged and it looks SSOO much better now. And we all went swimming today before dad went home and that was a lot of fun. I actually got to GO SWIMMING! yeah my parents were watching the boys and I got to do some laps in the pool. And there were only like 3 other kids in the pool it was way nice. (and yes I double checked online to see if I could still go swimming. And it's totally fine as long as my water hasn't broken yet..which it hasn't...sadly) I really hope this doesn't take the whole week for Gavin to get here. But I have had more "harder" contractions today so we'll see. Boy was I a nervous reck before my parents got here. I don't know how I would have handled it without them THANKS MOM AND DAD! Now we just have to get Gavin to decide he wants to say hello.

But I'm TIRED!

So I've been awake since 4am this morning. Yeah I can't get comfortable and all these contractions aren't helping. So apparently my due date was a month off. I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and the ultrasound tech said that my due date could be off. My Doctor did the first ultrasound to find out my due date...and he did it wrong. But the tech never said he could be a month off. OH well. Anyhow. We'll just have to see how uncomfortable I get before mike gets home from work. I'd really like to have this baby today. I"M SLEEPY!

Yeah Mike has to work today. They picked a heck of a week to have him work a sunday. But my parents came up last night so I wouldn't be alone without a car today. Anyhow. My body aches and anyone who's had a baby can totally sympathize. And my hubby is leaving for the day in about 15min so I'll just have to pray that Gavin doesn't get two excited to see his parents.

at a 2 for number 3

Well today I had a doctors appointment and they checked my cervix. It has completely thinned out and I am dilated to a two. So we shall see what this next week brings.

And CONGRATS! to Justin and Anallia for bringing a new baby girl into the world!

a date

Mike got home a little after 8 last night. We got to thinkin' it was about time for a date. But every time we called my babysitters house no one would answer. But we couldn't remember the last time we went out just the two of us. So we sat and thought for a minute. Earlier in the evening mike had been invited to play dungeons and dragons(d&d) with some of his buddies from church. So somehow the idea popped into his head to have his buddies come over here to play...only him and I would leave. The only reason why his friends would be there is so there would be someone in the house with our kids. I started laughing and thinking, "no guy is ever going to go for that." But he gives them a call anyway. And guess what? They actually decided to come. It was three guys, and they brought their own cardboard pizzas. They just sat in our living room while we were gone and played d&d. And they told us to stay out as long as we wanted cause these guys set their own curfews. Yay! so we went driving around for a little bit and decided to see a drive in. Which by the way Iron Man is AMAZING! I don't even recall any cursing in it. The drive in only takes cash so we decided to run to walmart and buy some food for the movie then just get cash back instead of using an ATM. It was so fun to just be out of the house with my hubbie. I told the guys that they could have some cheetos that were in the cupboard and to help themselves to the milk in the fridge. Boy did they, they ate that WHOLE bag! And they almost drank a full gallon of Milk. But thats ok cause if you add up the cost of a babysitter it's still cheaper to get a gallon of milk and a bag of cheetos than to pay someone. And we had THREE babysitters. lol! But you know when you only have the middle of the night to do stuff, get a bunch of guys to come "house sit" for you. You're kids are asleep and the guys can just sit in your living room and play games till you get home. IT'S AWESOME!

Side note: On our way there we stopped at a Flying J and got gass. We only paid $3.80 a gal!!! Sweet!

2nd side note: in regards to the first side note...thats really sad that I'm excited about getting gas at that price.

I have Returned!

Well it's been a long couple of days without internet. I didn't realize how much we actually used it until our modem went out. But the repair man came and gave us a new one for free. YAY! So we're back online. I've been dying to be bloging these past couple of days. I've had some cute stories...but of course I didn't write them down so I don't remember them all. but here are two of which were very cute.

I fell asleep on the couch one day and I wake up to mikey kissing my forehead. As I rub my eyes and wake up further I find that my sweet two year old had place a blanket on me. He tucked mommy in bed. So sweet.

And yesterday we played hide and go seek for the first time. The first time I hid, I hid in his closet with the door open so he could find me. The second time I hid in the laundry room with the door mostly closed so he had to do a little more looking. And the third time...hahaha is my favorite. I hid on the bean bag chair with mikey's blanket over me, my feet were sticking out so I stuck Mr. Bear over my legs. It took him FOREVER to find me. It was so funny. He came in the livingroom like twice and then I started laughing. Mikey then realized I was under the blanket, "haha a blankie!" he says and rips his blanket off of me. What a cute kid.

Hurray for Xander!

Well today Xander took his first steps! It's about time too. The sad thing is...he didn't even realize he was walking by himself. I had been holding him under his armpits, and he wanted to walk from the computer desk to our bed. So as he took that first step I let go. And low and behold he took three steps all by himself. He wasn't even tipsy. He would have taken more steps if the bed wasn't so close. As soon as he made it I started saying. GOOD JOB! That was SO good! And he smiled real BIG....but he was a little confused cause he didn't know why mom was so proud of him.

I tried to get him to do it again...but to no avail. As far as he knows, he still hasn't walked by himself. But now I've seen him do it. He'll be walking on his own soon.

Jew-ya, weer ah you?!

Yesterday was so much fun! I got a call from my cousin that lives in Lees Summit. She didn't have work and she wanted to hang out. Heck yes! I'm always home bored so of course I said yes. Not to mention we hadn't seen eachother in...good grief...a long time. So Julia got the directions to my house and got here about 30-40 min later (after crossing the MO river 5 times lol). It was so much fun to have her here. After we ate lunch we got out the Bike trailer and went for a ride.

It's a lot more fun riding with another person. We just rode our bikes to target, chained them up and walked around the store for a while. We went to the books and read a few board books to the boys. They were getting WAY cranky so we decided to get them a snack and head out. As we were riding home we decided to stop at a thrift store. It wasn't a bad little store...but the isles were WAY to narrow. I couldn't get the trailer to go through half the store. We kept knocking stuff off shelfs too. It was pretty funny. And anywhere we would ride, if Julia got out of Mikey's sight he'd start yelling, "JEW-YA! Weer ah YOU!?!" over and over. Or he'd say "JEW-YA! Wha you doin'?" Which was really funny cause we'd been trying to get him to say Julia all day. And every time we'd ask him if he could say julia, he'd just nod his head yes. So it was fun when he started talking about her on the bike ride.

It was overcast all day...but no rain. So the ride was WONDERFUL. No hot sunshine on your face, and there was a good wind blowing. Really just a good day for a bike ride. Anyone who has been to our apartment knows that the driveway is a HUGE hill. Not so huge for a car maybe...but when your riding a bike and pulling a trailer...it's a bit of a task. So wonderful Julia decided to trade me as we walked up the hill. She pulled my bike and the boys, and I pushed her bike up the hill. It was still a bit of work, but it was fun. I would have stayed out longer but I was pooped, and the boys were cranky. So we put the boys down for another nap, and we went inside.

Mostly today we just sat around and talked. It was actually a lot of fun. Then later, when daddy got home we went to go rent a movie...they didn't have anything good, so we just got some Chinese food and came home to eat. Right before we put the kids in bed Julia saw my T-Shirt pillow that I made from our Youth Conference T-Shirts. She started laughing and asked why I turned it into a pillow. I had some extra stuffing and I needed a pillow. So you sew up a shirt and stuff it. Then as we walked the kids to their room to put them in bed Julia looks at no.1 and says, "does your mommy stuff her shirts?" Haha I about died laughing! She didn't mean it to come out that way...but out that way it came. I was laughing so hard I had to sit down. After the boys were in bed we sat and talked for a while, and the whole shirt thing sprouted a few blond jokes, then there was some bad weather rolling in so we said our goodbyes. I hope she comes again soon. It was a lot of fun. And maybe next time we'll go swimming.

Grandpa Cracker

hahaha I just asked mikey if he wanted a graham cracker and he said, "uh yeah a grandma...a granpa cracker? YEAH!" It was cute. Here are just some random pictures from the past little while.

We went Swimming the other day and the boys didn't like how cold the pool water was, so we decided to go home and climb in the warm tub.
