Western Circle

Well we did it! we got ourselves a place in TX. and boy is it great!!! No longer do we have to be stuck in stupid ol apartments. We get a HOUSE! and one with a fenced in back yard no less! And this is a thing of beauty....I wish I would have taken pictures. We've got a 2 car garage....3 bedrooms and the neighborhood is WONDERFUL! EVERYTHING is a mile and a 1/2 away from our house. Library in one direction, bakery outlet in another, grocery store, CVS, Ward building, park, pool, and our bank. And this whole town looks nice. Even the not so wonderful parts of town looked ok. there was NOT a part of town that made you just cringe. I'll find a picture of the house on the internet and show it off if I can. So far the plan is to move in 3 weeks. and now we've got a place to show for it!!! It's a really lovely place and I can't wait to show it off.

Mostly I'm glad to be in a house and not have to share a yard or walls. And the whole town was really nice...it's not quite as big as Springfield MO but....well maybe they're right about the same size...somewhere around there anyway. HURRAY A HOME!!!!!

Suprise suprise....it's me and mike what did you expect?!?

Well well well....we have (of course) changed our minds again. L3 pushed back Mike's training date, and he wanted a little more time to study for some tests....so we're staying. Yep the third week in Jan is our "date." We're trying to figure out a way for me to go to TX...and let mike stay here, but we only have one car....and we'll both need it if thats what we do. But we're working out the kinks. Hopefully we can figure it out.

But yeah...just to let you know...we've changed our plans again. (pshaw...typical :D )

All I want for Christmas

Well I'm excited to spend Christmas with family! It will be wonderful to see everyone. Hopefully being with family will tone down the stress I'm feeling. Mine isn't a holiday stress, it's a housing stress. We still have yet to go to TX to look at houses. We're going out there, house or not, on the 31st of Dec. But I've decided that the best Christmas present for me, would be to know that we have a place to go once we reach TX. I know we'll find one eventually, but that still doesn't change me stressing about it. So Santa, if you're around....and happen to read blogs....this is what I want for Christmas, a home in Texas (Greenville).

HE DID IT!

Today was the day! Mike graduated! We just got back from the ceremony. It was really wonderful to see all his hard work pay off. My camera has no memory right now because my xd card is getting worked on by my ever so loving brother (THANKS!). ( I wish I could extract things out of my brain that I've "deleted" that would be nice. But at least we can extract stuff of of camera cards that we accidentally deleted.) Anyway so my cousin on Mike's side took pictures at graduation. When Katie sends them to me I'll post them. Make sure to tell mike congratz!

Thank you for everyone who came I know it was just for a short little ceremony but we were really glad to see everyone. And it was fun to get to know Katie a little bit while she was here! And thanks Dad Compton for giving up your time to come. We love you ALL!!

CONGRATS MIKE !!!

For those who haven't heard yet......

Mike's graduation date got moved up. He is now graduating this upcoming thursday! And we will be living in Greenville TX. January 1st (or some time around then) we're going to take a trip to TX and look for housing...cause he starts his new job on Jan 19th. As far as I know I don't think anyone will be coming to his graduation. I think he's a little disappointed that he found out so late. If we would have known sooner, we probably could have gotten at least Danny & Cheryl to come. He won't show that he's disappointed but I think he is. Mostly I think he really wants his dad to be there. But, if any of his brothers could come up that would be nice too. The only thing is, Graduation is in the Morning, and then at 2:45 he has to go to work. So we'll do the ceremony and then he has to leave. So he "knows" no one wants to come for 45 min just for a "silly" ceremony and then not even get to hang out afterwards.

I'm really proud of Mike, and I think he's proud of himself too. I just wish more people could come to his graduation. I think it's at like 10 or 11 on thursday....if anyone wants to know.

Sentamental

There comes a time in a girls life when she crys at the silliest, smallest things. That time usually comes when they're a teenager...then after that it comes about once a month. Hurray for being a girl. :S Well this lovely week tends to make me sentimental to the extreme. I was watchin robots with my boys, and at the end of the show when the dad is telling him how proud he is, and the son tells the dad that the best thing that he ever got from his dad was that he believed in him. yeah....I started crying. Not like full blown bawling...but I did get teary eyed. eh...whatever...it was sweet. I love movies with good family values. If you haven't seen Robots, you should. It's AWESOME.

New Nativity Set

Have I mentioned I LOVE Aldi? I LOVE ALDI! For anyone who shops there, you know what I mean when I talk about their "random" isle. You know, the one that has anything in it from pots and pans, to little kid clothes, to bathroom rugs, to desks, to computers. They've got EVERYTHING. Well this week one of their special purchases was this little Nativity set. And I got it! I was saving up for a movie...but I don't have very many Nativity sets...actually I have one. The puzzle set my mom made me....well cut out for me, she made me paint it. So when I saw how cute this set was I HAD to get it. And it isn't ceramic, so it shouldn't break if my kids get a hold of it. I love Christmas time!

unofficialy official

Wellp...we did it. Mike is going to graduate mid December....and then we'll be headed off to TX. He hasn't told them he's accepted their job offer yet (thats why it's unofficial), but we've decided (thats why it's official). Greenville TX it is. He'll be working for L3 communications fixing/updating jets. I don't know much, but he'll be working for the government I think. So me not knowing much is probably going to be the standard. :D Just so long as he doesn't get sucked into a jet engine I don't mind....And if he does...shudder...pray it's like this man.

So besides the fact that I'm totally scared out of my mind for him....I had no idea that could actually happen....I think we'll be ok. I haven't lived that far away from home before. Missouri is all I know...I hope Greenville is beautiful. I'm really sad to be leaving all of my friends so soon. I'm going to miss all of you! I hope wherever the roads take you is beautiful as well. If all goes according to plan, we'll be moved by mid January.

We'll be spending Christmas with my family south of here, but that is only for a few days. At least we'll get to see most of our friends before we move. Texas, I hope you're ready for the Compton family, cause ready or not....HERE WE COME!

How I you are.

Today Mikey and Xander were playing the piano and singing twinkle twinkle little star. And they did it without any help. It was SSOO cute. They'd bang a few notes out as they sang.

Twinkle widol star,
How I you are
Up so high
diamond in sky
Twinkle widol star
How i you are.

Or there is Xander's version...

Tween-el yidol star
Diamon sky
how i you are.

haha they're so funny. Oh yeah And for the first time today I heard Mikey sing his ENTIRE alphabet. And he didn't make ANY mistakes!!! It was AWESOME! My boys are so clever.

Beauty and the Beast

So I'm getting totally excited for next week. Julia (my cousin who lives close) and I are going to go to my hometown and watch their high school performance. I'm so pumped about it. I get to go see my old Drama teacher, choreographer, and piano player. All the people I used to know from when I was in plays in High School. Not to mention I haven't seen anything live for a long time....uh...when I say anything...I don't mean ANYTHING. I mean come on. I'm alive...my kids are alive...Even the grass outside is alive. Don't think I live in a city of the undead or anything. What I meant was, I haven't seen any live THEATER for a long time. Shesh crazys.

I know I've got some stuff to bring down with me. The boys...for one. Cause they can't very well stay home. I mean daddy's in the same city...but the would need a sitter, so I have to bring them. And I'll have to bring their carseats. Hum...I also need to bring some stuff for Sarah. I have some diapers and other baby stuff for you. If I don't get to see you on the 20th or the 21 then I'll just leave it with mom. OH yeah...and I was doing the little boys laundry, and they had a pair of jeans that looked WAY to girly for them. I'm guessing they're Lydia's. I need to bring Some clothes that I promised Nanc...and you asked me to bring the Newsies book as well? Then I need to return mom's movie...and I think that was pretty much it. Let me know if anyone can think of anything else I need to bring next week. I'm so excited to see everyone. And I'm pretty excited to be driving with Julia too. I CAN"T WAIT!

Kings!

I love my Boys, they're so cute. Mikey came up to me today and had his blanket wraped around his shoulder and said, "I'm a Princess!" haha uh...no you're not. So I told him he was either a prince or a king. Then him and Xander started walking around the house yelling, "KING KING KING!" But the only problem was they couldn't hold on to their blankets. And every time they'd fall the boys would freak out, "Mom! HELP! help!" So we decided to tie them around their necks so they could run around the house. Boy did they love that. Then since they had capes, they needed king hats. I wasn't quite sure what to do, cause it needed to be quick so they wouldn't get impatient. So I came up with rolled paper bags. It was adorable the first time they both got their hats. Xander was a little hesitant, but when he saw how much fun Mikey was having, he warmed up to the idea pretty quick. They're still wearing their capes. Mikey keeps saying, "A King Michael!" And Xander keeps saying, "Keen Sander!" And all the while king Gavin is sleeping in his crib sucking his thumb. I really do have the cutest little boys on earth.

F21

Well first off I would like to say, Happy Birthday to my hubby. He turned 57 yesterday...oh oops I mean 52....just kidding he turned 25 yesterday. We were at his parents house all day and it was a lot of fun. We played Greek Risk...only Cory is a big cheater pants...and Mike even got a birthday cake. He was sleeping on the couch and so we brought the cake to him and started singing to wake him up. He didn't wake up until the last to words...and thats cause we were shouting and shaking him. "TO YOU!!!!!" he woke up startled...and blew out his candles. It was funny. We would have let him sleep but everyone wanted cake:D

Ok as to the name of this post... This is about today. Yarg. Last time I washed a load of laundry...the washer didn't finish the load and it gave me the error code F21. I look it up in the owners manuel. They said it's a clog. So I run just the drain cycle...as it said to do...to see if that would help. It didn't. I get online and I found a guy who told you how to fix the clog. You take off the kick panel in the front, and manually drain your washer...there is a hose under the pump that has a spot that collects stuff for this purpose. I found a lot of stuff...change, a broken clickey pen...like a really nice one...only not anymore...some rubber bands, candy wrappers. Lots of stuff. I get it all cleaned out, close it up, screw on the kick panel, and start the washer to see if it will drain...It fills up with water, spins around a bit...then right when it should drain...

F21
Yeah...I had to do the whole thing all over again. My floor was super wet by this time...but then I decided to stick my hand further up the drain pipe...guess what I found...more rubber bands! I found a whole wad of them. They were the clog. All because of Mikes obsession to make his rubber band ball big. Only what I pulled out of our washing machine...looked like the makings of a rubber band ball...only instead of just adding the rubber bands by stretching them over each other...this was a great bit knot. I screwed back on the cap...didn't replace the kick plate this time...just in case... and started the washer. Every thing we smooth. It was wonderful. And I straightaway banned mike from bringing home those specific rubber bands anymore. "If you have any on your wrist right now, take them off and leave them at work!"

"But! uh...even the big ones?"
"Fine...just not the little skinny ones that get sucked into our washer!"
"But those are good for shooting!"

ARG. seriously...no more! I thought my house was overrun with little boys...it's even more so overrun with rubber bands. BUT NO MORE!

P.S. Thank you Julie for bringing us dinner tonight. My children would have gotten milk and crackers had you not showed up MAJOR thanks!

School Update

OK....well it's getting down to crunch time. And Mike has got some finals coming up. I thought we had till mid january...but it turns out that they may just let him graduate early like december 16....Yeah well a few weeks before he graduates....he has to take his finals...which come out to cost about $800 in total. I thought we'd have another month to save up...but it looks like were going to have to pinch pennies these next two months. So I'm going to be selling things on the internet...and then I"m going to get rid of our internet until we move...maybe. What the heck am I going to do without internet!

I supose I can always go back to writing in my journal. :D Anyhow. Needless to say, we aren't going to be spending money on ANYTHING extra. The saddest part about the who thing...that means we'll be leaving in two months. :(

I don't think I"m ready to get uprooted yet. I love Kansas City....I love our Ward, and our friends. And we've only got two months left! So I'm totally sad...cause that seriously just hit me. two months...is nothing. Where the heck did all of our time go? Piece of Crap...now I"m going to be mopey today. Michelle...I may just end up calling you today while I clean my room.

BEWARE!

ok for everyone who loves getting e-cards, be on the lookout. There is a virus thats out there that is in the form of an E card. I would just avoid sending them or opening them until the virus clears. Here is the link about the virus.

This site does have a way to get your greeting card. Just don't click on the link you get in your E-mail. That is very important to not click on the link cause this is suposedly how the virus gets a hold of your computer.

The website is Snopes and they do have a lot of legitimate stuff. A friend of mine said it was on CNN as well. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

Eyebrows and Jews

This video is Mikey, just today he discovered his eyebrows, he was doing this unprompted in the mirror and watching himself. It was so funny! He'd raise his eyebrows a few times and just DIE laughing. It was hillarous. This video took some prompting..but it's still funny. Lately we've been trying to do better with our reading scriptures each night. And that is really hard with children who don't stay interested in anything for more than 10 seconds. But last night I was reading in our rocking chair with the two boys on our laps. Mikey likes to "read" and it was his turn. This is how it went.....

mom: And it came to pass
mikey: an it came to pass
mom: that the jews did mock
mikey: JUICE!
Xander: DUCE!

Then they both preceded to fall apart and I couldn't even finish the verse. I have NEVER seen them so squirmy! I had to hold them both down just to say prayers and then they had to go to bed. They were really mad by then. It was so stinkin funny. Who knew that reading the scriptures could make such sweet little boys SSOOO upset!

Time for a change

Well everyone was updating their blogs and mine was starting to look like the crypt keeper. So now we have a nice looking background and I've updated my blog list and websites. Now we come to what has been going on this week.

I went into the boys room and guess what I find...two half neked boys! Neither one of them had their diapers on! STINK POTS. so they get a swat...and then we put them on the pot. Now they're getting punished...only they don't know it yet. The punishment won't happen until they get a girlfriend MUAHHAHAHA!!!
Smile Xander!

Smile Mikey!

And yes, we shovel food and water down their throats while they sit on the toilet.
LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of water!
(those are strawberries by the way)

Catching up

So I haven't posted in a while, but there has been a lot going on. It was wonderful to see everyone this week, even under the circumstances. I know we're all going to miss Grandpa, but it's like Cory said, "this isn't goodbye for ever. Just goodbye for now." We love you Grandpa! And Analla and Dawn, I still need pictures from you guys. My camera was MIA all week so I didn't get a single picture. I did get it working when we got home. And here's a picture of the boys to prove it. I can't wait to see what pictures you

6 things about me

well....this is actually the first time I've been tagged. And I haven't blogged in a while. Um...and I tag, Michelle, Analla, Dawn, Keith, and my mom....only Mom has to write 6 facts about Marshall on the Adams blog.

1) I am a Drama Queen. When I was little, if I got upset it was the end of the world. Or if someone got hurt (even if they just fell over and didn't even get bruised), I felt it was my obligation...no my duty, to rush to their aid! And you know...I thought I had grown out of it....until one day I was talkin to mike. He said something about wanting to do something on his day off...which meant I didn't get to plan anything for us to do that day. I heaved the most enormous sigh, rolled my eyes to high heaven, and flopped...or rather, flung... myself on top of my bed. And I wasn't trying to make a show either. I did it out of the most sincere seriousness I had in me. That was the way I felt, and I'd be dashed if I couldn't portray it!

2) I'm a hopeless romantic. The first whole year of our marriage I tried to hint to Michael that I wanted him to buy me flowers. Only I suppose my hints were really crappy...or my husband was daft. I think it's just that my hints were not NEARLY good enough. As a wife, secretly you want you husband to just get into your head and know what you want. I'd say things like, "I'm not having a good day. I just need a pick me up." Or I'd look at our table and say, "It just needs SOMETHING on it. Maybe some COLOR of some sort to it" And I'm sure a lot of you have heard my salami story. (if not I'll save it for another post). But now I've realized If I want all those silly romantic gestures...I have to tell mike exactly what I want. For Example, we were eating our dinner by candle light (which I had prompted "When I get back into the living room I want something romantic done with dinner."), and during dinner I said something to the effect of, "Oh! I know what you and Corey should do!" Corey being the guy he carpools with, "This week you two should get together and make something for you wifes. I bet they would love that!" (Big cheesy grin)

3) I like to make presentations. Anything I do for fun has to be done a certain way. And It has to look good. Well I guess this one should actually be I like getting complements. Actually I LIVE for complements. One of the best things is getting complements on stuff that is so obsurd. "Wow Marisa, the way you reached for the peanut butter out of the cupboard was so graceful!" (maybe thats why I like watching anne of green gables so much, cause I feel like I can relate to Anne)

4) I like to pretend I know what I'm talking about. If someone asks me a question and I know anything REMOTELY about it, I'll try and come up with the best anser I can and see if I can fudge good enough for people to believe me. Or like when I'm watching football. I still don't know everything about the game. I just sit by people who are really loud and cheer when they cheer and get terribly upset when they do the same. It's quite fun actually. :D

5) I have no reservations. Last time I went shopping at target the security guard was asking people what their favorite song was. And if they would sing it. Of course no one would and they all gave the guy funny looks. I on the other hand was waiting for him to ask me. I was ready with a song that had been stuck in my head (ease on down the road, from The Wiz), and I was ready to sing it as I skipped on my way out of target...but I didn't ever get asked. It actually kind of ruined my day. (which just goes to prove no. 1)

6) I absolutely LOVE to talk. I seriously didn't think this post was going to be NEAR this long. It happens all the time though. Even If I have nothing to say, I'll make something up just so I can get my two cents in. Mike has fallen asleep COUNTLESS times at night when I go off rambling. I'm like a can of Pringles, "Once you pop the fun don't stop!"

Unlikely Places to Sleep

Gavin isn't quite old enough to sleep in the room with the older boys, but he sleeps through the night so there is no reason for him to be in our bed. But our room is to small for his crib, so he sleeps on the floor next to our bed. So a few days ago we went to bed, as is normal, at night time. Gavin sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night so why should this night be so different. Well...when he started crying I groggily get up out of bed and in the dark of my room bend down to the place where he sleeps to pick him up. Only to my surprise...he wasn't there. I could still hear him, but to a very tired person it's really hard to concentrate. I couldn't, for the life of me, while I was tired, find where my baby was. Then as I woke up a little more I realized that the crying was coming from under my bed.

Gavin, in his sleep had wiggled out of his blanket and turned to our bed, and was now under it right about in the center of the bed. So I reach under the bed and grab his foot to pull him out. I was laughing so hard that I woke up Mike, "what are you laughing about?" I proceed to get Gavin unstuck as I explain to Mike what I'm doing. We stick our cold little kid-cicle under the covers and laugh ourselves to sleep.

Pinewood Derby

Our Ward is doing a Pinewood derby. The rules are as follows: 1) It has to fit on the track. 2) No open Flames. Mike originally wanted to do fuel cells, but motors are cheaper. (aka his wife vetoed it:D ) So this is the start of his car, and I'll be sure to take pictures at the Derby. Wish Mike luck!

Womens Privilage

My Grandmother sent me this E-mail about the women who fought for the right to vote. I would strongly encourage all of you who are old enough, men as well, to make sure to not only be a registered voter...but to make your voice heard and VOTE. That is what this beautiful land of America is about. The people have a voice here. And it's not just the men...it's any member of the United States of America. Even if you don't like either of the candidates. It is our PRIVILEGE to vote and we have ancestors who fought for that to be so.

WHY WOMEN SHOULD

This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago.

Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote.

And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of 'obstructing sidewalk traffic.'

(Lucy Burns)
They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.

(Dora Lewis)
They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the 'Night of Terror' on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote. For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms.

(Alice Paul)
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/suffrage/nwp/prisoners.pdf
<http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/suffrage/nwp/prisoners.pdf>

So, refresh my memory. Some women won't vote this year because-
-why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining?

Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO's new movie 'Iron Jawed Angels.' It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.

All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.

My friend Wendy, who is my age and studied women's history, saw the HBO movie, too. When she stopped by my desk to talk about it, she looked angry. She was--with herself. 'One thought
kept coming back to me as I watched that movie,' she said. 'What would those women think of the way I use, or don't use, my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.' The right to vote, she said, had become valuable to her 'all over again.'

HBO released the movie on video and DVD . I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum I want it shown on Bunco night, too, and anywhere else women gather. I realize this isn't our usual idea of socializing, but we are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order.

It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn't make her crazy.

The doctor admonished the men: 'Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.'

Three Musketeers

I was holding Gavin today and Mikey looks at me and says, "Is Mikey turn, hold it."
"Do you want to hold Gavin?"
"Mikey's turn...a hold...a Gawin."
After holding him for a while I decided I'd better go get my camera, so I take Gavin with me to my room to get my camera and I hear Mikey saying, "Hey! Is Mikey's turn...a hold it." So I quickly grabbed my camera and headed back into the livingroom. And boy am I glad I got my camera out. I love my munchkines.

Gavin's Blessing

Caroline and Gavin, sleeping in Grandpa Adams' bed. They're so cute!

Gavin is such a happy baby. And he looks so spiffy in his blessing outfit.

Here's our sweet baby Gavin. He was blessed in Carthage ward on Sunday the 7th. Thanks everyone who got to come!

Mom to the Rescue

yesterday mikey ran into my room crying. I turn to look at him and he's got a large pair of pliers laying on his head. After further inspection I came to realize that th reason why he was crying was he had closed the pliers on some of his hair and couldn't get them to open again. He was pretty histaric, "MoM! pleAsE HElp! mOM!" So I opened the pliers and kissed his head where they had been. Then with tears in his eyes, mikey looks at me and says, "dant cho...(snif)...Much"

Playing outside

sorry most of these are so far away. But little boys are kinda hard to catch. I've only got digital zoom on my camera and that just makes the pictures look grainy.

These are the same day the F18 was flying over our apartment. The airshow was that day and we had a whole lot of jets fly over our house.

I admit...it was a lot more fun last year when we actually bought tickets and got a babysitter...but we didn't spend any money having them fly over our house so that was okay too.I think gavin was the only one who didn't get scared when the jets flew by. He was just chilaxin in the sunshine.

Sunday really was the perfect day (aparently something is funny cause Gavin just made the CUTEST laugh...and he's sleeping in the swing. Silly boy) There was a slight breeze and it wasn't even hot. It was honestly PERFECT.
Well minus one thing. Mike was at work. Yep he got called in on a sunday. That always stinks. And it was last minute too so he just had to take the car and leave. Sad day.
You know what else stinks? You see that fun little slide? Well every time we want to get it out...we have to hoist it over our "porch" railing. And we ALWAYS have to put it back when were done...unless we want the neighbor kids to ruin it.
I can't wait to see where we'll be when mike graduates. I'm so ready to get into a house.

F18 in my Backyard

Ok so it doesn't look very impresive...but if you zoom in on that circle you can see the F18 and a little airplane flying side by side. In real life they looked a WHOLE lot closer than on the picture. And boy were they loud. The boys and I were playing outside and they flew over our house. And I thought they got scared when I turned on the vacuum HA! You shoulda seen their faces! (Am I cruel cause I thought it was funny?)

New Blog element

Ok everyone. I have added a new element to my blog. Please take note as it may help you. These are the coolest websites I've ever stumbled upon. If you're bored take some time and look through them. They're pretty cool. There is stuff from sharing files privately to DIY projects that ANYONE could do and still make it look good. Enjoy! I'll be adding things periodically to the list...and modifying it. (speaking of modifying...if you look at one site....look at the one that says modify your electronics. You can turn an old game controller into an I pod!)

Home Decor

Well I've been looking online for something I could do for mike for his birthday this year. last year we went to the Aviation Expo...but that just so happens to be today and tomorrow...and well...we didn't get tickets. It was a surprise last year for him, so now I've got to do something else. Anyhow...I have a few ideas but I thought I'd check on the internet. And this is one of the coolest things I've stumbled across yet!

http://www.interflightstudio.com/tablecollection.html

They have home decor made out of old Airplane parts! Some of the stuff is just "plane" but a lot of it is kinda cool looking. They have a desk made out of a bomber wing. And that is so stinkin cool! Anyhow I Thought it was neat.

Hee hee I'm sneaky!

So last night I couldn't sleep. I didn't have any energy...my eyes just didn't want to close. So instead of just laying there I decided to get up and do something. I got up and got a drink...and saw the markers laying on the counter. Then guess what I decided to do. I wrote a message on the shower wall! I'm so clever! That way when Mike got up in the morning to shower..he would know his wife loved him. He said it made his day the best! He also said that I wrote it on the one wall he doesn't look at. He saw it in the middle of his shower and said it scared him. hehehe silly hubbie.

my kind of day

Saturday I was going to post...but I didn't so I'll tell you my story now. When I get fed up...I go and drink a glass of chocolate milk. Only on Saturday I could have drank a whole gallon of chocolate milk. The boys were getting into everything...including their diapers (ICK!!!). So needless to say every time I'd get started cleaning up one of their messes...they'd make another one. I had a glass of chocolate milk that I had made and only drank 1/2 of it cause I got distracted cause the boys had made another mess...and I never got around to drinking it. Then Mike got home and we talk for a while. I had just put the boys in bed. Then as Mike is talking to me I look over at the table...my glass of chocolate milk. I had forgotten. Well it was still good....and I certinaly didn't want it to go bad. So I started chugging what was left. As I'm drinking Mike decides to ask me to drive to our shared garden...by myself...and go cut some basil and make him so tomato basil pasta. I had just finally gotten the house to be quiet and he wanted me to go make him some PASTA! I turn around and say...rather loudly, "Do you KNOW what my day has been like!" And my oh so sensitive husband....began to laugh. "You have the biggest chocolate milk mustache I have ever seen!" Well that got me giggling and the rest of the day was so much better. I love my husband he always finds a way to make me feel better. Today it just happened to be chocolate milk.

Hence the outlandishly huge mustache picture.

Giggeling Gavin!

Well I don't have a picture of him smiling yet...or laughing. But yesterday he actually giggled! It was SSOO cute! That was the first time he giggled and both me and mike were there to hear it. Now I understand why in Peter Pan, fairy's come from a baby's first laugh. It was such a beautiful sound.

Good job Gavin! You're getting older!

Beware the Serpent.

We went into the dealership to see if we could get our little saturn ION re-financed. The rate we have right now is to much. And when we bought the car there in the first place, the guy who sold it to us said to come back in about a year and we can refinance. (always get that in writing) We come back and they say the loan company we went through doesn't do refinancing. The little cheat just told us that to get us to buy the stinkin car.

Well long story short, they ended up getting us to drive a van around for a week. And then they keep us in their show room for 3 hours trying to talk us into getting a van. They made it sound really good, and if it would have only been one of us we may have taken the deal. But we kept eachother in check, and I kept my foot down. We walked away with our little ION insead of a gas sucking van that would put us further into debt.

Lesson learned...don't buy a car unless you buy it from an individual. Paying cash is ALWAYS better than a loan..... And NEVER trust a used car salesman.

Potty Mouth!

AARRRGGG!!!!!!!! I hate cleaning up POOP!!!!!!!!! I would post a picture...but quite frankly I didn't want to take a picture of that. I'm so just...ARG! Thats it I'm DONE! D-O-N-E done!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to buy ANY more diapers! Not for Xander. Let me tell you a story.

There once was a young Xander Boy.
Who thought that his poop was a toy.
With his fingers he mushed it
Right after he Pushed it.
And thought it was all just a joy.

That diaper did have quite a load.
But painting wasn't enough for the toad.
Just as he placed it.
He thought he should taste it.
And his mother... she doth explode.

Open House

Well...today was a fun excursion. Fruitless...but fun. Do you remember that project I talked about a LONG time ago that Mike's school is doing? Each school is making a world war one airplane. This is what it looks like so far. They are the furthest along out of any school so far. It looks really nice from up close as well. I didn't realize how small they really were. Look at Mikey compared to the airplane. Anyhow the whole back end is done, they just need to put in the dials on the "dashboard" and put in the engine & finish the front. It's going to look really cool when they're done.

Today was an open house at Michaels school. There were recruiters for different companies there...but the one company that Mike wanted to talk to (Cessna...out of Independence, KS) weren't able to make it. So we just ate some free food, took a tour of the school, and looked at some airplanes they had been working on. One of the teachers had his own airplane that he built from the ground up and he flies it and does war reenactments. He's a real nice guy and offered to let us sit in his airplane. Mikey didn't sit. He's actually standing in the seat.

This is me in the airplane. It was a little airplane...but the seat was deep. I was stretching my neck as much as I could so you could see my whole face. It was really neat...bu I think you'd have to be taller than me to see anything out in front of you.

Now Mikey and I have joined the "I'm cool cause I sat in a 'vintage' airplane" club. How many of you can say the same? Mikey was so cool he even got a hat. Ok well the hat is Daddy's...but it looks so good on Mikers!

Dont you think?

Mikey finds the camera.

Well...when I went to go post some pictures..I found these on my camera. Yeah..I'm guessing mikey kinda figured out how to use it. So here is my child genius. He is going to be the worlds best photographer someday. (Hey...everyone's gotta start somewhere right?)

Another eyeball shot.

This one I'm not particularly fond of...but it's his first picture of something else besides his finger or his eye. Good job mikey.
